Is Neuromodulation Right for You or Your Child?
At Foster the Mind, we specialize in helping children and families who have struggled to find answers—often after years of trying traditional mental health approaches with limited success.
If you or your child are facing emotional, behavioral, or cognitive challenges and want a solution that gets to the root of the issue, neuromodulation therapy may be the right path forward.

Who Can Benefit from This Treatment?
Explore the common use cases for neuromodulation therapy
Our neuromodulation and related treatments are designed for individuals who:
-
Have experienced trauma, abuse, or attachment disruption
-
Struggle with mental conditions like anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, depression, addiction, autism, Tourette’s, TBI, sensory processing issues, or other persistent challenges
-
Have tried therapy and/or medication with limited results
-
Want a personalized, non-invasive approach to mental health
-
Are ready to explore healing that starts in the brain—and radiates into life
Even if you don’t have a formal diagnosis, but something just doesn’t feel “right,” we can help assess what’s happening in the brain and offer a plan to move forward.
What to Expect
Our process is thoughtful, compassionate, and deeply individualized.
Here’s what your journey might look like:
1
Intake and Brain Mapping
We begin with a thorough intake process and a quantitative EEG (qEEG), or brain map. This process records the brain’s electrical activity and helps identify areas that may be out of sync or underperforming. It gives us a clear and objective view of what’s going on beneath the surface.
2
Personalized Treatment Plan
Based on the results of the brain map, our clinical team creates a tailored plan that may include neuromodulation, neurofeedback, coaching, and supportive therapies. We’ll explain everything in plain language so you know exactly what to expect.
3
Brain Recalibration Sessions
Neuromodulation sessions are relaxing, quiet, and non-invasive. You (or your child) may talk, watch a show, read, or play a game while receiving gentle electrical and magnetic stimulation to guide the brain into healthier patterns.
You will finally KNOW what is going on. This is a huge relief to parents and kids who have been made to feel that behavioral issues are caused by bad parenting or character flaws.
Over time, families often report:
-
Better focus, attention, and learning
-
Calmer moods and reduced emotional outbursts
-
More restful sleep
-
Increased resilience and social connection
-
Relief from anxiety, panic, or depressive symptoms
-
Overall improvement in quality of life
With our brain first approach to mental wellness, we don’t just manage symptoms. We work to resolve their root causes to create wholeness.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as TMS?
No, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) uses a much higher level of stimulation. In our experience, TMS treatment is substantially more expensive than our approach and is typically not customized for each patient. We find our gentler, highly targeted and individualized treatment based on brain mapping to be more effective.
How is your brain training different from neurofeedback?
Traditional neurofeedback requires patients to be very still and concentrate intensely for long periods of time. Even blinking can set back progress. Most patients find it frustrating and may end treatment before seeing any results. This treatment modality is especially difficult for children. In contrast, our neurostimulation therapy requires no effort or concentration. It does most of the work for you.
How long is each session?
Treatment sessions last for an hour (including setup time)
How often are treatments done?
Patients are typically treated 2–3 times per week and the schedule may be adjusted as progress unfolds. More frequent treatment is sometimes recommended for out of town patients or traumatic brain injury patients to offer greater improvement in a shorter time frame.
How many sessions will it take to see results?
Most patients begin experiencing changes within a few sessions. Because every brain is different, we don’t know up front the total number of treatments to reach the desired outcome. We do work with patients for as long as needed to achieve relief and are known for taking on and resolving challenging cases.
How much does treatment cost?
Treatment sessions at the clinic are $250. In-home sessions are billed at a higher rate to cover travel time.
Does insurance cover neuromodulation therapy?
At this time, we are not aware of any insurance plans that cover our treatments. You do have the option of using your HSA (Health Savings Account) to pay for treatment with pretax dollars. We look forward to the day when this proven therapy is covered by insurance!
